Mmmm... coffee

The chat:

After a night spent massacring mosquitos in our less than salubrious guesthouse, we pulled on our fleeces (!) and wandered out into one-street Paksong. After breakfasting on soup at the very muddy and windswept market, we joined a caffeine-mad Dutchman (appropriately nicknamed ‘Koffee’) and a veritable crèche of globetrotting children on a very average tour of Koffee’s coffee plantation, bookended by cups of very good home-grown, dried, and roasted coffee.  Buzzing, we set off under black skies on the 60km ride to Tad Lo, a well-known Lao beauty spot by a peaceful river. Sure enough the heavens opened after an hour, and we arrived cold and wet through. Fortunately the Ortlieb panniers held firm and after a hot shower at the excellent Palamei guesthouse and an underwhelming dinner at Tom’s guesthouse, we hit the sack for a couple of episodes of everyone’s favourite Swedish crime drama, The Killing. No, we wouldn’t want to work with Sarah Lund either…

Very young coffee
